In the thirty-ninth chapter of the book of Jeremiah, we can read about “the very least” or “the poor, those who had nothing”, and who remained in the land, after the great powers Egypt – Jer. chapter 37 – and Babel, had brought their armies back and forth – fighting, exploiting and ravaging.
Jer. 39:10 “But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time” (King James)
Is this what we can expect after the current hostilities on various sides and in different corners of the world have finally ceased?
Is this what it means, that “..the meek shall inherit the earth”? – Matt. 5:5
